Abstract
During the period from 1981 to 1984, the levels of IgG, IgM, IgA and C, have been evaluated in the acute and convalescent stages in 20 patients who were admitted and treated at our department with
pneumococcic pneumonia, In the acute stage of the disease, when the mean value of C, and the normal mean value were compared, it was observed that in patients, he mean value of C, showed a significant
decline (P< 0.05). While in the convalescent stage, there were no significant difference between the mean value of C, and the normal mean value in these patients. These findings indicate that in the acute
stage of the disease, the level of C, declines whereas in the convalescent stage it reaches back to normal values.
With respect to studies undertaken with the immunoglobulins in ihe acute stage, the levels of IgG, IgM and IgA have been found to be within normal values. In the convalescenit stage, however, there has
been an increase in the immunoglobulins in 45 “ of cases, especialIy in IgG and IgM.

Abstract
1981 - 1984 yıllarında kliniğe yatırılarak tedavi gören 20 pnömokoksik pnömoni vak'asında hastalığın akut ve konvalessans döneminde IgG, IgM, IgA ve Cı düzeyleri incelenmiştir. Hastalığın akut döneminde C,'ün ortalama değeri ile, normal ortalama değer karşılaştırıdığında, hastalarda C.ün ortalama değerinin önemli derecede düşük olduğu saptanmıştır (P< 0.05). Konvalessans döneminde ise, hastalardaki C, ortalama değeri ile normal ortalama değer arasındaki farkın önemli olmadığı görülmüştür. Bu bulgulara göre hastalığın akut döneminde C, düzeyi azalmakta, konvalessans dönemde tekrar normal değerlere ulaşmaktadır.
İmmünglobulinlerin incelenmesinde ise, akut dönemde IgG, IgM ve IgA normal sınırlar içinde bulunmuştur. Konvalessanis dönemde ise vak'aların W 45'inde immünglobulinlerde artma saptanmıştır, bu bilhassa IgG ve IgM'de dir.
