Review of 274 caeee Two hundred seventry four patients with renal amyloidosis were diagnosed in' the Department of Mediëine, Unirversity of Ankara Medical School Turkey, between 1963 and 1980. The kidney tissues were obtained by the percutaneous needle:biopsy and no death resulted in secondary to biopsy. The geographical distribution of these patients was investigated in order to find out whether or not there was an endemic area for amyloidosis in Turkey. It was observed that the most cases came from the middle Anatolia, for example, 46 cases from Ankara, 21 cases from Konya, 20 cases from Yozgat. 19 cases from Çorum etc... It was presumed thåt this result -was due to localisation-of our hospital in Ankara. All amyloid.cases diagl•osed hiŠtologica11y must be known in order to get the reliable results concerning the geographical distribution- of amyloidoSis- in Turkey.

Tamlarİ 'histolojik olarak konulan 274 böbrek amiloid olgusu Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi İç Hastalıkları Kliniği'nde 1963-1980 yılları arasında incelendi.
