Değişen dünyada uluslararası kadın göçü üzerine bir değerlendirme

Abstract

Bu çalışma, bugünün dünyasında uluslararası kadın göçünün seyrini özgün bağlamları içinde görmek ve kadının toplumsal konumuyla göç arasındaki ilişkiye dair bir açıklama geliştirmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma konusu üzerine etraflı bir değerlendirme yapabilmek adına literatür taraması yapılmış, muteber uluslararası kuruluşların yayımladığı istatistikler ve raporlar incelenip yorumlanmıştır. Son yıllarda gündeme taşınan göçün kadınlaşması/feminenleşmesi tartışmaları da bu çerçevede ele alınmış ve bu kavramın kadının toplumsal konumunu ele alırken pozitif bir kapsam sunduğu kadar negatif durumları da işaret eden bir gerçeklikle ilişkili olduğu değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Çalışma, bu yönüyle salt kadın araştırmaları kapsamında olmaktan ziyade göç çalışmaları içinde kadının konumunu ele alan bir yaklaşımla hayata geçirilmiştir. Meseleye bu zaviyeden bakıldığında kadın göçünün toplumsal eşitsizliklere bir cevap niteliğiyle kadının kendini gerçekleştirme sürecinde önemli bir araç olarak işlev görmesinin yanında farklılaşan biçimleriyle sömürüyü sürdürdüğü sonucuna varılmıştır. Öte yandan kadın göçünün cinsiyet rol ve statülerinden bağımsız olarak sosyo-ekonomik ve sosyo-politik bir temele de sahip olduğu, meselenin uluslararası konjonktürün doğal çıktılarından biri olarak değerlendirilmesinin gerektiği de vurgulanmıştır.

An evoluation on international women migration in a changing world

Abstract

This study has been carried out in order to see the course of international women's migration in today's world in its unique contexts and to develop an explanation of the relationship between women's social position and migration. In order to make a thorough eveluation of the research topic, a literature review was conducted, and statistics and reports published by reputable international organisations were examined and interpreted. The discussions on the feminisation of migration, which have been brought to the agenda in recent years, have also been discussed within this framework, and it has been evaluated that this concept is related to a reality that points to negative situations as well as a positive scope while addressing the social position of women. In this respect, the study has been realised with an approach that deals with the position of women within migration studies rather than being solely within the scope of women's studies. Looking at the issue from this perspective, it is concluded that women's migration functions as an important tool in the process of women's self-realisation as a response to social inequalities, as well as continuing exploitation in different forms. On the other hand, it is also emphasised that women's migration has a socio-economic and socio-political basis independent of gender roles and statuses, and that the issue should be considered as one of the natural outcomes of the international conjuncture.
