Dating Violence from the Perspective of Young Adults: University Experience and Perceptual Differences

Abstract

This study aims to understand university students' perceptions, experiences, and societal differences regarding dating violence within social structures. The research intends to analyze these experiences from a sociological perspective by offering participants a workshop that allows them to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences about dating violence, considering their social and cultural contexts. During the workshop, participants will be provided with materials to create collages reflecting their emotions and thoughts, and they will be encouraged to engage in drawing activities as well. The workshop and materials provided to participants will serve as tools to reveal emotions and thoughts shaped by the social context and the shadow of social relationships. Participants will be given creative materials, such as scissors, glue, magazines, and colored papers, to express their thoughts and feelings about dating violence. They will be asked to create their own collages with these materials and encouraged to participate in drawing activities. A group discussion will be held based on the collages and drawings created by participants. Researchers will participate in these discussions to deeply understand and interpret the information derived from the participants' works. Social network analysis methods will also be employed to analyze the social interactions and dynamics influencing perceptions of dating violence, taking into account participants' various social networks and relationships. This study project seeks to address dating violence by incorporating young adults' creative expression methods, adding an emotional and artistic dimension to the study. Artistic expression may enable participants to engage on a deeper emotional level, thereby enriching the research findings and providing more insightful outcomes. The results of the study will help us understand participants' perceptions of dating violence through their creative expressions and develop effective intervention strategies on this issue.

Genç Yetişkinlerin Gözünden Flört Şiddeti Üniversite Deneyimi ve Algısal Farklılıklar

Abstract

Üniversite öğrencilerinin sosyal yapılar içinde flört şiddeti konusundaki algılarını, deneyimlerini ve bu konudaki toplumsal farklılıkları anlamayı amaçlar. Araştırma, katılımcılara sosyal ve kültürel bağlamları dikkate alarak flört şiddeti ile ilgili düşünce, duygu ve deneyimlerini ifade etmeleri için bir atölye çalışması sunarak, sosyolojik bakış açısıyla bu deneyimleri analiz etmeyi hedefler. Araştırma, katılımcılara flört şiddeti ile ilgili düşünce, duygu ve deneyimlerini ifade etmeleri için bir atölye çalışması sunacaktır. Katılımcılara verilen malzemelerle, duygularını ve düşüncelerini yansıtan kolajlar oluşturmaları istenecek ve aynı zamanda resim yapma aktivitelerine katılmaları teşvik edilecektir. Katılımcılara flört şiddeti ile ilgili düşüncelerini ifade etmeleri için sunulan malzemeler ve yapılan atölye çalışması, sosyal bağlamda ve sosyal ilişkilerin gölgesinde şekillenen duyguların ve düşüncelerin ortaya çıkmasına yönelik bir araç olarak ele alınacaktır. Katılımcılara flört şiddeti ile ilgili düşüncelerini ve duygularını yaratıcı bir şekilde ifade etmeleri için malzemeler (makas, yapıştırıcı, dergiler, renkli kâğıtlar) sağlanacaktır. Katılımcılardan, bu malzemelerle kendi kolajlarını oluşturmaları istenecek ve aynı zamanda resim yapma aktivitelerine katılmaları teşvik edilecektir. Katılımcılar, oluşturdukları kolajlar ve resimler üzerinden bir grup tartışması yapacaklardır. Araştırmacılar, katılımcıların eserlerinden elde edilen bilgileri derinlemesine anlamak ve yorumlamak için bu tartışmalara katılacaktır. Katılımcıların çeşitli sosyal ağları ve ilişkileri göz önüne alarak, flört şiddeti algıları arasındaki toplumsal etkileşimleri ve dinamikleri analiz etmek amacıyla toplumsal ağ analizi yöntemleri kullanılacaktır. Bu çalışma, flört şiddeti konusunu genç yetişkinlerin yaratıcı ifade yöntemleriyle ele alarak, duygusal ve sanatsal bir boyut eklemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Sanatsal ifade, katılımcıların daha derin ve duygusal bir düzeyde katılımını sağlayabilir, böylece araştırma sonuçları daha zengin ve içgörülü olabilir. Araştırmanın sonuçları, katılımcıların yaratıcı ifadeleri aracılığıyla flört şiddeti algılarını anlamamıza ve bu konuda etkili müdahale stratejileri geliştirmemize yardımcı olacaktır.
