Abstract
Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar is a novelist of Republic Period Literature. Hisar discusses the concept of the time many aspects at his novel named “Fahim Bey ve Biz”. He describes the effects and characteristics of the time. In the same novel, Hisar describes İstanbul and Çamlıca as a self-contained civilization with its nature, architecture and other arts, and social-cultural experiences. In this article we will investigate that how comprehend the novel narrators and novel persons the concept of time and civilization at the novel “Fahim Bey ve Biz”.

Cumhuriyet dönemi romancılarımızdan olan Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar, “Fahim Bey ve Biz” adlı romanında, zaman konusunu pek çok boyutuyla ele almakta; zamanın niteliklerini ve etkilerini izlekleştirmektedir. Hisar, bu romanında doğası, mimarisi, diğer sanat dalları, sosyal ve kültürel yaşantıları ile İstanbul ve Çamlıca’yı da müstakil medeniyet olarak değerlendirmektedir. Bu yazıda, “Fahim Bey ve Biz” romanında anlatıcı ve roman kişilerinin zaman ve medeniyet kavramlarını hangi bağlamlarda ele aldıkları incelenmektedir.
