Abstract

GİRİŞ

Epidermoid kistler ektodermal orijinli, benign kistik lezyonlardır.

Incidental Interhemispheric Epidermoid Cyst; Two Case Reports

Year 2024, Volume: 38 Issue: 2, 97 - 101, 28.08.2024

Abstract

Epidermoid cysts are benign cystic lesions of ectodermal origin. Malignant transformation is very rare. They constitute approximately 0.2-1.8% of primary intracranial tumors. These cysts, which are mostly asymptomatic, are usually detected incidentally. They are most commonly located in the cerebollopontine corner. Interhemispheric location has been reported very rarely in the literature. The treatment of interhemispheric epidermoid cysts is surgical, and knowing the size, localization and relationship of the cyst with surrounding structures is of great importance in determining the surgical approach. A classification system for interhemispheric cysts has been developed in the literature to standardize the surgical approach. In this article, CT and MRI findings of an interhemispherically located epidermoid cyst detected incidentally are presented in two cases.
