Abstract

Abdurrahman Kâmil Yetkin (death1941) is a late period poet, scientist and religious person that raised by Amasya. Kâmil Efendi worked as a teacher and mufti in Amasya for years and he wrote many works about religious, moral and literary subjects in addition to his official duties. One of his work is Nakd-i Hatır in which he compared language and pen. The author has placed a long story in Nakd-i Hatır in order to expres the power of sweet and true words in a concrete way by increasing the enthusiasm of the reader andthe pleasure of the listener. The basic team of the study is an independent story named a long story about the good effect of sweet and true words placed in Nakd-i Hâtır . The heroes of the story written in allegorical style are mind, idea, soul, love and spirit. In the story mind represents the Sultan, soul represents the queen, spirit, love and idea represent the bridemaids of the Sultan. Throughout the story, the heroes argue and try to convince each other by using Turkish, Arabic and Persian poetry and sayings, as well as verses and hadiths on the subject. In the article, the story was first examined in terms of plot, cast of characters, place, time, point of view and narrator ,then the aphorisms in the story, Turkish couplets were identified and sample passages from the discussions of the heroes of the story were given. In this study, the power of scientific knowledge, soft style and sweet and true words were revealed through discussions of Kâmil Efendi.
