Abstract

Abstract
This study compares the effects of plyometric tuck jump exercises performed using traditional and cluster set methods on anaerobic performance through post-activation performance enhancement (PAPE) in young female handball players. 28 licensed female handball players aged 16–18 with at least three years of training experience participated in the study. Participants were divided into two groups using a crossover design, and tuck jump exercises were performed in both cluster and traditional set formats. CMJ, COD, and 30-meter sprint tests were conducted at the 4th, 6th, and 8th minutes. Statistical analyses were performed using two-way repeated measures ANOVA via GraphPad Prism software. The cluster set method resulted in statistically significant improvements in CMJ, COD, and sprint performance compared to the traditional set method (p<0.05). No significant effects were found for the order of methods or interaction effects. Incorporating tuck jump exercises with a cluster set approach into pre-competition warm-up routines may be an effective strategy for acute performance enhancement, mainly due to its minimal equipment requirements.
