Abstract

From the perspective of occupational therapy, occupation is recognized as one of the fundamental needs of human beings. All individuals have the right to participate in various occupations that support survival, health, and well-being, to make choices without the pressure of unfair restrictions, and to be included safely and freely. Occupational justice, within this perspective, is defined as a form of social justice that recognizes the right of every individual to engage in daily occupations. Occupational therapists, aiming to enhance social welfare and protect occupational rights by identifying and maintaining meaningful and purposeful occupations for individuals, also engage in various practices at micro-meso-macro levels to ensure occupational justice. Occupational justice is one of the fundamental principles of occupational therapy, providing a comprehensive approach to enhancing quality of life by promoting individuals' integration into society and their occupational rights while addressing social and environmental influences. This review is expected to shed light on discussions regarding the concept and origin of occupational justice, relevant terminologies, determinants of occupational justice, relevant models, occupational justice interventions at micro-meso-macro levels, and the role of occupational therapists in ensuring occupational justice.

Hak Temelli Bir Yaklaşım Olarak Okupasyonel Adalet
