Abstract

Today, with the rapid development of technology, the use of smart devices in medical technologies has increased. Mobile health applications have become widely used in meeting the treatment and care needs of cancer patients. Mobile health applications increase cancer patients' access to care, support symptom control and reduce healthcare costs. In this review, we aimed to summarize the effects of mobile health application use on cancer patients' access to health services, follow-up and nursing care. With the increasing use of smart cell phones, mobile health applications are becoming widespread in health education. The use of mobile health applications enables remote monitoring and follow-up of patients by nurses. Health literacy plays a crucial role for cancer patients to understand treatment options and side effect management. There is increasing interest in the use of mobile health applications to improve health literacy. Mobile health applications significantly reduce the risk of infection by enabling cancer patients to stay at home. Mobile health applications improve symptom management, change lifestyle and support medication adherence in the home care process of cancer patients. Mobile health applications increase the interaction of cancer patients with nurses and physicians and support the educational needs of patients. It increases the self-care habits and quality of life of patients who are far away from providing easy understanding of information related to the disease and treatment process. It is important to consider age, access to technology and sociocultural factors in the process of providing care with mobile health applications. It is predicted that mobile health applications will have an important role in the care and follow-up of cancer patients.

Kanser Hastalarının Bakım ve İzleminde Mobil Sağlık Uygulamaları

Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: 2, 859 - 866, 26.06.2025
