Archiving and Repository Policy

Journal of Nephrology Nursing adopts an open access policy and deposits all published articles into electronic archives without requiring any action from the author(s). All articles are made freely and permanently accessible online. Authors and funding organizations are allowed to archive different versions of their articles in a proper and compliant manner.

Licensing and Reuse
All articles published in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) 4.0 International License. Under this license:

• Use for non-commercial purposes is permitted.
• Proper citation of the original source is required.
• Derivative works are not allowed.
• Sharing is allowed only in the original, unmodified form.

Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy
1. LOCKSS System:
• The journal digitally preserves published content through the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system.
LOCKSS Manifest Pages:
English: https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/hemsire/lockss-manifest

2. Institutional and Subject Repositories:
• Authors may deposit various versions of their manuscripts into institutional repositories or subject-based open access archives. No embargo period is applied for such deposits.

3. Preprint Sharing (Version Prior to Peer Review)
• Authors are permitted to share the preprint version of their manuscripts — i.e., the version submitted before peer review — in institutional or subject-based repositories without embargo.
• Preprints are not considered prior publications; thus, authors are allowed to post their findings on non-commercial preprint servers and engage in scholarly discussion before formal submission.
• Since preprints are shared before formal publication, their content may be revised subsequently.

DOI: Preprint versions are not assigned a DOI.
• If the manuscript is accepted and published by the journal, authors are expected to update the archived preprint and link it to the final published version. This practice helps ensure readers can access the most current and accurate version.

4. Postprint and Final Published Version

• The peer-reviewed and accepted version (postprint) and the final published version are assigned a DOI.
•  These versions may be deposited in institutional or open-access repositories.
• The final published articles are permanently preserved in the journal's digital archive.

5. Self-Archiving
•  Authors are allowed to share their articles on personal websites, academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), and institutional repositories.
•  When sharing the final published version, citation of the journal homepage or inclusion of the DOI link is mandatory.

6. RSS Feeds
•  Readers can stay updated with the journal’s latest publications through RSS feeds.

• RSS (English):  https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/hemsire/rss-feeds

7. PDF Access
• Readers can freely download and use the PDF versions of published articles without restriction.

ORCID Policy
• Nefroloji Hemşireliği Dergisi requires that authors provide their ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) during manuscript submission.
ORCID is a unique alphanumeric identifier that distinguishes authors and enhances accuracy in scholarly communication.
• All authors are required to obtain and provide a valid ORCID ID. ORCID registration is free and available at https://orcid.org
