AUTHOR GUIDELINES AND ARTICLE PUBLICATION RULES
General Information:
1. JAES is a peer-reviewed scientific journal primarily focused on Environmental and AnimalSciences. It is published online via the DergiPark system six times a year: in January, March, May, July, September, and November. The abbreviated name of the journal is "JAES".
2. Articles submitted for publication in this journal must be written in either Turkish or English,must not have been previously published, and must not be under simultaneous review elsewhere. Articles planned to be published should consist of original research papers, case reports, or invited/review articles approved by the editor. They should cover topics related to biology, environment, agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, veterinary and animal sciences conducted in Turkey or globally, with aims such as informing the public, sharing current technological developments, and advancing knowledge in food hygiene and technology of animal origin, exotic animal sciences, and laboratory animal sciences.
3. If the manuscript includes the use of experimental animals, a statement must be included in the “Materials and Methods” section confirming that approval was obtained from the Local Ethics Committee or that ethical guidelines were followed. If applicable, the authors must indicate the name of the institution and approval number. Ethical approval is not required for manuscripts derived from theses.

4. Authors must comply with copyright requirements regarding materials taken from other sources andmust sign a copyright transfer agreement. All responsibility arising from the articles lies with the author(s).
5. For any articles (Original Research, Case Reports, Reviews) related to notifiable animaldiseases, it is mandatory to submit permission from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Livestock to the editorial office.
6. Articles are reviewed by at least two referees who are experts in the relevant field, appointedby the editor. A double-blind peer review process is used. Acceptance of the manuscript depends on the referees' evaluations and the final decision of the editorial board.
JAES Article Preparation Requirements:
1. Manuscripts should be written on A4-sized paper with 1.5 line spacing and 3 cm margins on allsides. Including figures, tables, and references, the page limit should not exceed 16 pages for original scientific articles, 6 pages for case reports, and 18 pages for reviews.
2. Manuscripts must be prepared using Microsoft Word software in Times New Roman font, size 12 pt.
3. Line numbers (starting from the second page) and page numbers (centered at the bottom of eachpage) must be added.
4. Explanatory information about the article (e.g., thesis, project) should be marked with asuperscript [*] after the title and explained in italics below the keywords.
5. Commercial names of substances and products used in the research should not be mentioned.
Original Research Articles:
First Page: Includes the article title, authors' names and affiliations, email addresses, ORCID numbers, contact details of the corresponding author, and if applicable, explanatory notes about the manuscript.
Second Page: Contains abstracts and keywords in both Turkish and English. Abstracts should briefly include the aim, materials, methods, results, and conclusions. Keywords should be in alphabetical order, up to 6 words.
Third Page Onward: The manuscript should include the following sections: INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS, DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION, ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (if applicable), AUTHOR CONTRIBUTIONS, and REFERENCES. Results and discussion can be combined. Section headings should be
in uppercase and bold. Subheadings should be in sentence case and bold. Statistical analysis must be described at the end of the “Materials and Methods” section. Units and abbreviations should follow SI standards. Tables and figures must be numbered and labeled properly in both languages.
Case Reports:
Follows the same structure as original research articles. Abstracts should be 150–200 words. The manuscript should include: INTRODUCTION, CASE REPORT, DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION, REFERENCES.
Conclusions must start with “As a result…”.
Review Articles:
Follows the same structure as original articles. Abstracts should be 200–250 words. The manuscript should include: INTRODUCTION, main headings, CONCLUSION, REFERENCES. Units, abbreviations, tables, and figures should follow original article format.


Use of References in Articles:
Follow APA 6th Edition. Minimum 10 references for case reports, 20 for research articles, max 40 for reviews. In-text citations: (Author, Year) style. Multiple authors listed alphabetically. Full references should be in alphabetical order. Examples for journal articles, books, book chapters, theses, symposiums, institutional reports, online sources, and software are provided.
Submission of Manuscripts:
Submit via online system (http://dergipark.gov.tr/) as Word documents. Author names should be in correct format with ORCID IDs. Figures should be submitted separately in JPEG format, 300 DPI.
Journal Printing and Subscription:
Accepted articles will be published online in order of submission. Authors must choose a subscription type: Standard (1200 TL), Silver (2280 TL), Gold (3240 TL), Platinum (4080 TL), Emerald (4800 TL), Diamond (5400 TL). Payment should be sent to the specified bank account and confirmation emailed to jaes-tr@hotmail.com. Peer-review process is not initiated unless subscription is completed. One author must be subscribed for publication. Editors and section editors may receive a discount. Subscription does not guarantee acceptance. Rejected manuscripts can use the subscription for another paper within the same year.
