Prof. Dr. Kadir Turan received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fırat University in 2000. He completed his M.Sc. in 2003 and Ph.D. in 2009, both in the field of Mechanics within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, Fırat University.
In 2007, he began his academic career as a Research Assistant at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dicle University. He was appointed as Assistant Professor in 2011. Following successful qualification through the Interuniversity Council of Turkey (ÜAK), he obtained the title of Associate Professor in 2014.
In 2020, he was promoted to Full Professor in the Division of Mechanics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dicle University, where he continues his academic and research activities.
Prof. Dr. Turan has contributed to numerous research projects, scientific publications, and academic collaborations in the areas of mechanical and structural engineering. His ongoing work focuses on the mechanical behavior of materials, computational modeling, and applied mechanics.
I received my Ph.D. degree from School of Informatics and Computing of Indiana University — Bloomington in 2014. I did my M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from University of Texas at Austin in 2007, and my B.Sc. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2005.
My research interests include parallel programming, high performance computing with GPUs, string matching algorithms, big data problems, distributed systems, application parallelism, blockchain applications and cryptocurrencies.
