Abstract
Giriş kavitesi preparasyonu, ortograd kök kanal tedavisinin ilk ve en önemli aşamasıdır. Giriş kavitesinin yetersiz veya yanlış açılmış olması tedavinin enstrümantasyon ve obturasyon aşamalarında bir komplikasyon oluşmasına ve tedavinin başarısız olmasına neden olur. Tedavinin başarısızlığı sonucunda, dişin çekilmiş ve yerine protetik restorasyon yapılmış olması ise; hasta için zaman ve maddi kayıpların yanı sıra, estetik ve fonksiyon kaybını beraberinde getirir. Diş hekimliği kliniklerine hastalar çoğunlukla ağrı şikâyeti ile başvurmaktadırlar. Bu şikayetlerin giderilebilmesi için tüm diş hekimleri, komplike olmayan endodontik tedavileri, başarılı bir şekilde yerine getirmelidir. Başarılı bir endodontik tedavinin anahtarı ise, iyi bir giriş kavitesi preparasyonu ile başlar. Bu da “ideal giriş kavitesi kriterlerinin” farkında olmayı gerektirir.
