Filmler aracılığıyla yaşam boyu öğrenme: Öğretmen adaylarının mesleki ve kişisel gelişimleri

Abstract

Araştırmada öğretmen adaylarının Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından önerilen ‘3 Idiots’ filminin kişisel ve mesleki gelişimlerine olan etkisini yaşam boyu öğrenme perspektifinden değerlendirmeleri amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, fenomenolojik desende tasarlanmış nitel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 19 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubunun belirlenmesinde kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesinden yararlanılmıştır. Veriler, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tümevarımcı analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğretmen adayları filmden özgüven, motivasyon, öğrenmeye yönelim, kişisel ilişkiler ve yeniliklere açık olma temalarında kişisel gelişim sağlamışlardır. Öğretmen adayları ayrıca bilgi, beceri, teknoloji, değer, tutum ve yaşam boyu öğrenme temalarında filmin mesleki gelişimleri için faydalı olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmen adayları ‘3 Idiots’ filminden eleştirel düşünme, bağımsız hareket edebilme, toplumsal ve sosyal baskılara direnme, yenilikçi düşünme, bireysel öğrenmeye yönelim, çağdaş eğitim anlayışı, eğitimde teknolojiden yararlanma, eğitimin dönüştürücü gücüne inanma ve güncel bilgileri takip etme gibi uluslararası örgütlerin yaşam boyu öğrenme için önemli gördüğü konularda gelişim sağlamışlardır.

Lifelong learning through movies: Professional and personal development of prospective teachers

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of the movie '3 Idiots', recommended by the Ministry of National Education, on their personal and professional development from the perspective of lifelong learning. The research is a qualitative study designed in phenomenological design. The study group of the research consists of 19 pre-service teachers. In determining the study group, convenience sampling was used. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. Inductive analysis method was used to analyze the data. According to the results of the research, pre-service teachers gained personal development from the movie in the themes of self-confidence, motivation, orientation to learning, personal relationships and being open to innovations. The pre-service teachers also stated that the movie was useful for their professional development in the themes of knowledge, skills, technology, values, attitudes and lifelong learning. From the movie '3 Idiots', pre-service teachers developed critical thinking, acting independently, resisting social and social pressures, innovative thinking, orientation towards individual learning, contemporary education understanding, using technology in education, believing in the transformative power of education and following up-to-date information, which international organizations consider important for lifelong learning.
