Zuhal Mert Uzuner is a professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Marmara University. She teaches Introduction to International Relations and Seminar on Southeast Europe, International Organizations, EU-Turkey Relations, and Greek-Turkish Relations. Uzuner studies foreign policy analysis, Greek foreign policy, Turkish foreign policy, Balkan and Mediterranean politics, and Greek-Turkish relations. She has a B.A., M.A., and PhD degrees from Marmara University International Relations and an M.A. from Southeast European Studies at Democritus University of Thrace, Law School, Greece. She knows English and Greek and has written several articles, books, and papers in Turkish and English. She is the author of Anapofeuktoi Sintrofoi o Ellino Italikos Polemos ston Tourkiko Tipo Oktovrios Dekemvrios 1940 (published by Epikentro in 2016) and editor of Role of Image in Greek Turkish Relations (published in 2018 by Peter Lang). Zuhal Mert Uzuner, who has been the Director of MURCIR (Marmara University International Relations Research Center) since 2023, also participates in Track II diplomacy initiatives and has been a member of the Eastern Mediterranean Initiative since 2021 and the Turkish Greek Forum since 2022.
Prof. Dr. İlke Göçmen is the Head of the Department of EU Law at Ankara University Law Faculty. Previously, he served as the Director of the EU Research Centre and as the Editor of the Ankara Review of European Studies.
He has been a visiting post-doctoral researcher at Leiden University’s Europa Institute and a visiting professor at Saarland University’s Europa-Institut.
He has extensive experience in research and publication in EU law, encompassing both its institutional and substantive aspects, as well as the legal dimension of EU-Türkiye relations.
He holds a Jean Monnet Chair (2019-2022) with his project titled Legal Issues in Turkey–European Union Relations.
