Daniş Baykan was born in İzmir in 1973. He completed his elementary and high school in İzmir. He graduated from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Science & Literature Faculty Classical Archaeology Department in 1997. He completed his master degree in 2002 and obtained doctorate title in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Elif Tül Tulunay from Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences Faculty of Letters Classical Archaeology Department. He worked in the Museum of Turk & Islam Artworks of Istanbul as a contracted staff between 2001 and 2002. Since 2002, he has been working in Department of Classical Archaeology, Archaeology Division of Faculty of Letter of T.R. Trakya University. Apart from Nif Mountain Excavation which he is actively participating (2006, 2008-2024) he took part in excavations of Allianoi (1995, 1999, 2000, 2002-2006), Assos (1996-1997) and Zeugma (1998-1999), and in various surface surveys. Some of the major headlines he studied are metal finds, Antique Period production technologies, Antique Period social life, Antique history of medicine, operating museums, Anatolia iconography during 1st Millennium BC, and sculpture in Anatolia during 1st Millennium BC.
