SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR MOLESTO: JOURNAL OF LITERARY STUDIES
Submissions intended for publication in MOLESTO: Journal of Literary Studies must meet the following requirements:
Articles submitted to the journal must not have been previously published or submitted to another journal for publication.
Submissions that do not comply with the Journal’s Submission Guidelines will not be considered for review.
Manuscripts should be prepared in A4 portrait format, with single spacing, and 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
Excluding the title, abstract, keywords, and references pages, the main body of the article must contain no fewer than 2,750 words and no more than 12,000 words, written in Garamond, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing, and submitted as a Microsoft Word document.
Manuscripts must be structured according to the sections listed below (in the specified order) and adhere to the formatting principles outlined for each section:
If the article is written in a language other than English, it is mandatory to include both a Turkish and an English title and abstract.
(For example, an article written in Italian must include both Turkish and English titles and abstracts. This requirement does not apply to articles written in Turkish or English.)
Structure and Formatting Details:
Title in Turkish: The Turkish title should be written in 12-point, bold, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, aligned to the left.
Title in Foreign Language: The foreign-language title (e.g., English) should follow the Turkish title and also be written in 12-point, bold, ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, aligned to the left.
Author(s): After the titles, the author’s first name (only the first letter capitalized) and last name (in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS) should be written in 12-point, bold, aligned to the left. Academic title, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address should be given in a footnote.
Abstract in Turkish (Öz): The Turkish abstract must be written in 10-point font, with single spacing, and must not exceed 250 words.
Keywords in Turkish: Include at least four and no more than six keywords that reflect the content of the article, and write them in italics.
Abstract in Foreign Language: The content of the Turkish abstract must be translated and provided in a foreign language (e.g., English).
Keywords in Foreign Language: Include at least four and no more than six keywords in the same order as the Turkish keywords, written in italics.
Extended Abstract: At the end of the text (after the References section), an extended abstract in English consisting of 500–600 words must be included. The same formatting rules applied to the main text also apply to this section. An extended abstract is not required for articles written in English.
MLA CITATION AND IN-TEXT REFERENCING STYLE
All citations, references, and in-text references must follow the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (7th edition).
Subheadings within the main body should be in 11-point, bold font, with capitalized first letters of each word and the rest in lowercase.
Quotations and References:
Short quotations (fewer than 40 words) must appear in italics within quotation marks (“...”).
Long quotations (more than 40 words) must be written without quotation marks, in a separate paragraph, indented 1 cm from the left and right, in 11-point font, with a period at the end.
Images, Figures, and Other Visual Materials: If photographs, charts, or other visual materials are used, the source must be cited. The author is legally responsible for obtaining permissions and complying with copyright requirements.
