Writing Guidelines
1. Manuscripts should be prepared using Windows Word, in Times or Times New Roman font, 12-point size, with 1.5 line spacing.
2. The length of the manuscripts should not exceed eight thousand words.
3. Titles should be written in bold, left-aligned, and with the first letter of each word capitalized.
4. Author names should be written in bold, right-aligned, and placed below the title. The author’s surname should be in uppercase letters. The author’s title, department, institution, and e-mail address should be provided as a footnote at the end of the author’s name. As of 2019, all authors are required to have an ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) number, which must be included in the author information footnote. (These details are requested from the author after the peer review process is completed. The initial version of the manuscript submitted via DergiPark should not contain any personal information and should be uploaded as a Word document.)
5. For original articles in Turkish, a summary of no more than 150 words should be provided under the heading “Öz.” All articles must also include an English summary under the heading “Abstract.” The Turkish and English titles of the article should be given first, followed by the Turkish summary and 3 to 5 keywords. Below these, the English abstract and keywords should be included. Summaries and keywords must comply with international standards.
6. Footnotes should be used only to provide additional information, not for citation purposes. Footnotes should be numbered at the bottom of the page, written in 10-point font with single line spacing.
7. Direct quotations exceeding 40 words in the text should be presented as “block quotations” in a separate paragraph from the main text. Block quotations should be indented 1.25 cm from both the left and right margins, written in 11-point font, and the source should be cited in parentheses at the end of the quotation.
8. If figures, tables, images, etc. are to be used in the text, they should be inserted in the relevant place with one line space above and below. Visuals should be prepared digitally whenever possible; if scanned, they must be at least 600 dpi resolution and inserted into the text in “tiff” or “jpg” format. Images should be numbered consecutively. Each image should have a brief caption with its number, centered below the image.
9. For in-text citations and references, the rules specified in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 2020) should be followed (except for the citation of ancient sources).
10. Examples of in-text citation and bibliography in accordance with APA, as well as examples for citing ancient sources, are provided below.
11. Appendices should be placed after the references section, each on a separate page.
