RELATIONSHIP ANALYSIS OF PERSONALITY TRAITS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CAPITAL WITH QUIET QUITTING

Abstract

The aim of the research is to deeply examine the relationships between the personality traits and psychological capital levels of employees employed in the tourism sector and silent resignation. In this direction, it was aimed to determine the effects of the big five personality traits and psychological capital dimensions on the emotional and mental commitment of employees and to reveal the relationships of these variables with silent resignation dimensions. The universe of the research is tourism employees, and the sample was determined as 5-star hotel employees in the Bodrum/Yalıkavak region. The quantitative method was adopted in the research, and data were collected through an online survey. In this context, survey data were collected between 29.08.2024 and 01.10.2024, and correlation analysis was conducted in the SPSS 26 program. As a result of the research, although there was a positive relationship between the personality sub-dimensions and silent resignation sub-dimensions, it was seen that these relationships were generally weak and limited. It was observed that personality traits such as extraversion and agreeableness in particular showed a low level of relationship with silent resignation sub-dimensions. In addition, a negative relationship was observed between psychological capital sub-dimensions and silent resignation.

KİŞİLİK ÖZELLİKLERİ VE PSİKOLOJİK SERMAYENİN SESSİZ İSTİFA İLE İLİŞKİSEL ANALİZİ

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı, turizm sektöründe istihdam edilen çalışanların kişilik özellikleri ve psikolojik sermaye düzeylerinin, sessiz istifa ile ilişkilerini derinlemesine incelemektir. Bu doğrultuda, beş büyük kişilik özelliği ile psikolojik sermaye boyutlarının, çalışanların duygusal ve zihinsel bağlılıkları üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemek ve bu değişkenlerin sessiz istifa boyutları ile ilişkilerini ortaya koymak hedeflenmiştir. Araştırmanın evreni turizm çalışanları olup, örneklem Bodrum/Yalıkavak bölgesinde 5 yıldızlı otel çalışanları olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada nicel yöntem benimsenmiş ve veriler çevrimiçi anket aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Bu kapsamda 29.08.2024-01.10.2024 tarihleri arasında anket verileri toplanmış ve SPSS 26 programında korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; kişilik alt boyutları ile sessiz istifa alt boyutları arasında pozitif bir ilişki bulunmasına rağmen bu ilişkilerin genellikle zayıf ve sınırlı düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Özellikle dışadönüklük ve yumuşak başlılık gibi kişilik özelliklerinin sessiz istifa alt boyutlarıyla düşük düzeyde ilişki gösterdiği gözlemlenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra psikolojik sermaye alt boyutları ile sessiz istifa arasında negatif bir ilişki görülmüştür.
