Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy (PEB Journal)
Since 2025 (starting from Issue 1), PEB Journal has published all academic articles under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license.

The journal is open access, and its entire content is offered free of charge to readers and their affiliated institutions.

Readers are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, search, or link to the full texts of the articles published in the journal for non-commercial purposes without asking prior permission from the publisher or the authors.

This policy is fully aligned with the definition of open access established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

PEB Journal is a signatory of the Budapest Open Access Declaration.

About the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI)
The Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), launched in February 2002, is a landmark declaration that defines and promotes open access to peer-reviewed research literature. It advocates for the free availability of scholarly research online, permitting users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without financial, legal, or technical barriers—as long as proper attribution is given.

The BOAI identifies two primary strategies to achieve open access:

Self-Archiving: Authors should deposit their peer-reviewed articles in open electronic archives.

Open Access Journals: New or existing journals should adopt models to provide immediate open access to their content.

The BOAI remains one of the foundational documents of the global open access movement, shaping institutional policies, funding mandates, and publishing practices worldwide.
