Abstract
In this book, the processes of the birth and development of sociology, a young branch of science, and its progress as an academic discipline are carefully explained. While Enes Kabakcı mentions Montesquie and Tocqueville as the precursors of sociology, Auguste Comte and Emile Durkheim are considered as the main founders of sociology. Enes Kabakcı describes these sociologists as; It examines methodological approaches, theoretical perspectives and conceptual repertoires. Kabakcı focuses on the early history of this new science in order to contribute to the understanding of sociology, focusing on these four French thinkers who left their mark on the founding phase. In this context, the founding sociologists discussed in the book are; They are examined by the author in terms of their social analyses, intellectual resources, theories and methods as well as their intellectual biographies, political views and political positions.

Abstract
Bu kitapta, genç bir bilim dalı olan sosyolojinin doğuşu, gelişimi ve akademik bir disiplin olarak ilerlemesine dair süreçler dikkatle anlatılmıştır. Enes Kabakcı tarafından, e Montesquie ve Tocqueville sosyolojinin habercileri olarak zikredilirken, Auguste Comte ve Emile Durkheim ise sosyolojinin bizzat baş kurucuları olarak ele alınmaktadır. Enes Kabakcı bu sosyologları; yöntemsel yaklaşımları, kuramsal bakışları ve kavramsal dağarcıkları itibarıyla incelemektedir. Kabakcı, kuruluş evresine damgasını vuran bu dört Fransız düşünürü en temel merkeze alarak, sosyolojinin anlaşılmasına katkı sağlamak amacıyla bu yeni bilimin erken dönem tarihine odaklanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda kitapta ele alınan kurucu sosyologlar; toplumsal çözümlemeleri, fikirsel kaynakları, kuram ve yöntemleri kadar entelektüel biyografileri, politik görüşleri ve siyasal pozisyonları itibarıyla da yazar tarafından incelenmektedirler.
