SAĞLIK SEKTÖRÜNDE KAMU-ÖZEL İŞ BİRLİĞİ ÜZERİNE BİLİMSEL EĞİLİMLER: BİBLİYOMETRİK AĞ ANALİZİ YAKLAŞIMI

Year 2025, Volume: 7 Issue: 2, 155 - 173, 30.07.2025

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Web of Sciences veri tabanında yayımlanan, sağlık sektöründeki kamu-özel işbirliği araştırmalarını bibliyometrik

SCIENTIFIC TRENDS ON PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS IN THE HEALTH SECTOR: A BIOMETRIC NETWORK ANALYSIS APPROACH

Year 2025, Volume: 7 Issue: 2, 155 - 173, 30.07.2025

Abstract

This study aims to map the current state of research on public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the health sector by conducting a
bibliometric analysis of studies indexed in the Web of Science database. The analysis explores research trends, frequently
studied topics, key concepts and keywords, most prolific and highly cited authors, journals, universities, and countries, as well
as patterns of scientific collaboration. Based on a literature search conducted using predefined keywords, a total of 625 research
articles were included in the study. The analyses were carried out using the Bibliometrix package and Biblioshiny interface
within the R Studio environment. The findings indicate that research on PPPs gained momentum particularly after 2005, with
citation activity peaking in 2016. USA, UK, and India emerged as leading contributors, along with journals such as BMC
Health Services Research and Health Policy, and institutions like the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and
Stanford University. Although Turkey's contribution appears limited, it is nonetheless impactful. Thematic analysis revealed
that concepts such as care, management, health services, and performance are prominent. Trends in keyword usage show a
growing interest in governance, decision-making, systems, frameworks, communication, and digitalization. This study provides
a comprehensive overview of the literature on PPPs in the health sector, offering strategic directions for future research and
highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary and international collaborative approaches.
