İş Yaşamında Nöroçeşitlilik Araştırmalarının Bibliyometrik Bir İncelemesi

Year 2025, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 99 - 117, 30.06.2025

Abstract

A Bibliometric Analysis of Neurodiversity Research in the Context of Workplaces

Year 2025, Volume: 7 Issue: 1, 99 - 117, 30.06.2025
https://doi.org/10.47542/sauied.1672604

Abstract

This study aims to explore research trends on neurodiversity, examining the evolution of this concept within the fields of management, psychology, education, and human resources, as well as the structure of scientific publications, using bibliometric analysis. A total of 546 academic publications indexed in the Web of Science database between 2000 and 2024 were examined using VOSviewer software in terms of author collaborations, citation networks, and keyword co-occurrences. The findings indicate that the topic of neurodiversity has an interdisciplinary structure and has attracted increasing scholarly interest, particularly in the contexts of psychology, education, and business. A significant rise in the number of publications has been observed since 2016, with 2024 marking the peak in publication output. The research is largely concentrated in Anglo-Saxon countries, while academic contributions from Asia and Africa remain relatively limited. Within the scope of the analysis, the most influential authors, leading countries in terms of publication volume, highly cited studies, and the temporal evolution of the field were identified. In doing so, the study highlights major contributions to the literature as well as existing research gaps. The findings offer a comprehensive overview of the academic development of neurodiversity research and aim to serve as a guide for future investigations. Moreover, the literature predominantly focuses on autism and disability, whereas studies examining neurodiversity within the context of human resource management remain scarce.
