Manuscripts submitted to the SDU-SD Journal are first received through the Journal’s Dergipark system. The Editor or Associate Editor conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript’s suitability with respect to the Journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Below is a guide to the criteria that must be examined during the peer-review process by the esteemed scholars who serve as reviewers for SDU-SD. In addition to this guide, reviewers must also adhere to the peer-review requirements based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) principles to ensure objectivity and high quality.
Reviewer Selection and System
A double-blind peer-review system is applied to original research, review, theoretical, and other types of manuscripts submitted for publication in the SDU-SD Journal. The editorial office is responsible for keeping the reviewers’ identities confidential. Reviewers are chosen from individuals who hold at least a doctoral degree in the relevant field, have published work on the manuscript’s topic, and possess the necessary scholarly expertise.
Impartial and Objective Evaluation and Reporting
Reviewers must evaluate the manuscript impartially and objectively, considering only scientific quality and alignment with the Journal’s aims, without regard to the authors’ religion, language, race, gender, ethnic origin, or political views. Reviewers must also declare any conflicts of interest with the author(s) or the editorial office and maintain confidentiality. They must not share any information obtained during the review with third parties. Furthermore, reviewers should provide reasoned and constructive evaluation reports, clearly stating any requested revisions.
