Turkish Journal of Earthquake Research calls for high quality papers for the special issue titled “Economic and Administrative Analysis of 6 February Earthquakes”, which examines the economic, social and political dimensions of the earthquakes that caused devastating effects on a wide region covering 11 provinces in the southeast of Turkey on February 6, 2023.

Turkish Journal of Earthquake Research is a distinguished scientific journal that primarily focuses on technical and engineering-oriented topics. In addition to addressing the physical destruction caused by earthquakes from a technical and engineering perspective, this special issue has been planned based on the understanding that examining the multi-layered impacts of earthquakes on social, economic, and administrative structures within a scientific framework plays a crucial role in combating the earthquake problem in Turkey and in guiding the planning of relevant policies.

Turkish Journal of Earthquake Research primarily focuses on technical and engineering-oriented topics. While addressing the physical destruction caused by earthquakes from technical and engineering perspectives, it is also essential to examine their multi-dimensional impacts on social, economic, and administrative structures within a scientific framework. Such an approach will play a significant role in planning governance strategies and efforts to address earthquake-related challenges in Türkiye. This special issue will serve as a valuable platform for researches that shed light in this field.

This special issue, which includes theoretical and empirical researches on the economic impacts of the February 6 earthquakes, disaster financing, earthquake governance, public administration, reconstruction processes, and economic recovery dynamics, aims to encourage interdisciplinary and thought-provoking studies. With this special issue, it is aimed to provide an academic platform focusing on the February 6 earthquakes to examine the economic and administrative impacts of earthquakes, explore governance practices, and offer solution-oriented perspectives, thereby contributing high-quality scholarly work to the related literature.

- Paper submissions will be accepted in Turkish, and all manuscripts will be subject to a double-blind peer review process.
- Paper submission due date: 15 August 2025

- Special issue release date: 03 November 2025

- Writing Guidelines: The writing guidelines of the Turkish Journal of Earthquake Research will be applied.
