Conceptual Study of the DAG Active Optics Wavefront Sensor (aOWFS) System Using a Model-Based Systems Engineering Approach

Abstract

This study focuses on the early conceptual development of the Active Optics Wavefront Sensor (aOWFS), one of the state-of-the-art instruments to be integrated into the diffraction-limited Nasmyth platform of the 4-meter telescope at the Eastern Anatolia Observatory (DAG). Currently, the DLNP houses several critical systems, including the Adaptive Optics (TROIA), Coronagraph (PLACID), Near-Infrared Camera (DIRAC), De-rotator, and Optical Simulator (DAGOS). These existing systems impose various constraints that not only increase the complexity of the aOWFS but also make the anticipation of potential risks significantly challenging. In this early development phase, a holistic approach leveraging Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has been adopted to provide a structured framework for identifying potential risks and proactively addressing them to ensure the seamless integration of the aOWFS within the DLNP ecosystem.

Model Tabanlı Sistem Mühendisliği Yaklaşımı ile DAG Aktif Optik Dalga Cephesi Sensör (aOWFS) Sistemi Konsept Çalışması

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Doğu Anadolu Gözlemevi (DAG) 4 metre Teleskobunun Kırınımlı Limitli Nasmyth Platformunda (KLNP) yer alacak son teknoloji enstürmanlarından biri olan Aktif Optik Dalga Cephesi Sensörünün (aOWFS) erken dönem konsept çalışmalarına odaklanmaktadır. Hali hazırda KLNP’de pozisyonlandırılmış Adaptif Optik Kontrol Sistemi(TROIA), Koronagraf (PLACID), Yakın Kızılötesi Kamera (DIRAC), Rotasyon Düzeltici (Derotator) ve Optik Simülator (DAGOS) sistemlerinden gelen kısıtlamalar, aOWFS’nin karmaşıklığını arttırmakla beraber potansiyel risklerin öngörülmesini de zorlaştırmaktadır. Bu erken geliştirme aşamasında, olası riskleri belirlemek ve bunları proaktif bir şekilde ele alarak aOWFS’nin KLNP ekosistemine sorunsuz bir şekilde entegre edilmesini sağlamak için Model Tabanlı Sistem Mühendisliği (MBSE) yaklaşımını referans alan holistik bir yaklaşım benimsenmiştir.
