Kariyer Kaygısı ve İşlerin Yapay Zekâ Tarafından Devralınması Kaygısı Turizm Sektöründe Çalışma Eğilimini Nasıl Etkilenmektedir? Bulanık Küme Nitel Karşılaştırmalı Analizinden Kanıtlar

Year 2025, Volume: 12 Issue: 1, 87 - 101, 17.06.2025

Abstract

How do Career Anxiety and Artificial Intelligence Job Replacement Anxiety Affect the Intention to Work in the Field of Tourism? Evidence from Fuzzy-Set Qualitative Comparative Analysis

Year 2025, Volume: 12 Issue: 1, 87 - 101, 17.06.2025

Abstract

Although the tourism sector has significant employment potential, tourism students may not show a high intention to work in this sector for several reasons. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to determine the configurations predicting the intention of students from tourism guidance programs to work in the field of tourism with a combination of career anxiety and artificial intelligence job replacement anxiety. Within the scope of this research, data were collected from 209 students studying tourism guidance programs at different universities in Türkiye. A fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis was used for data analysis. As a result of this application, six different models leading to students’ intention to work in the field of tourism were identified. In all these models, while professional education training played a peripheral role with the absence situation, it as seen that different combinations might lead to output variable. Based on these findings, several implications were provided.
