Evaluation Process

All research articles, case studies, and review articles submitted to Atatürk University Trends in Business and Economics undergo the following evaluation process before publication.

Our journal is committed to adhering to academic ethical principles and scientific quality standards throughout all stages of the publication process. Additionally, regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools, authors are expected not to submit any content prepared using artificial intelligence at any stage unless the sections where such tools were used are clearly indicated.

1-Compliance with Writing Principles and Submission:
Authors must prepare their work in accordance with the writing rules and publication principles of the Trends in Business and Economics journal and upload it to the system. Articles derived from master's and doctoral theses must be submitted in English only, and this must be clearly stated in a footnote on the title page.

2-Formatting and Stylistic Review (Editing):
All submissions uploaded to the system are first reviewed by the editorial staff for compliance with formatting, style, and writing guidelines. If any deficiencies or inconsistencies are identified, the article is returned to the author or revisions are requested.

3-Editor and/or Editorial Board Preliminary Evaluation:

Works that are found to be formally appropriate are evaluated by the editorial board and/or editorial committee in terms of scientific content, originality, plagiarism rate, and compliance with the journal's publication policies. At this stage, the article may be rejected, revision may be requested, or it may be decided to send it to the referee process.

4-Field Editor Review:
Articles decided to be sent to the peer review process are forwarded to the field editor according to their relevant field of expertise. The field editor is responsible for assigning reviewers who are suitable for the subject of the work, have academic qualifications, and adhere to ethical rules.

5-Double-Blind Peer Review Process:

Each article is evaluated by at least two independent and double-blind reviewers. In this process, the authors and reviewers are unaware of each other's identities. Reviewers evaluate the article based on aspects such as writing rules, scientific originality, methodological adequacy, and the contribution of the work to the national/international literature.

6-Submission of Review Reports to the Editor:
Reviewers evaluate the work and submit their opinions to the editor regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection. The editor makes the final decision by considering the reviewers' opinions.

7-Feedback to the Author(s):
The editor communicates the referee evaluations and any necessary revision requests to the author(s). If necessary, the author(s) are asked to resubmit the revised version of the paper.

8-Final Review of the Revised Paper:
The revised paper is re-evaluated by the editor. If deemed appropriate, the paper is accepted for publication and placed in the queue for printing.

9-Language and Ethical Evaluations:
The Turkish/English language level and ethical statements of accepted papers are checked by the Turkish Language Editor, English Language Editor, and Ethics Editor, respectively.

10-Statistical Review (When Necessary):

If statistical analyses are included in the article, the work is additionally reviewed by the Statistics Editor in terms of scientific methods and analysis validity.

With this multi-stage review process, our journal aims to ensure the academic quality, scientific validity, and ethical standards of the published works.
