Farklı Liglerdeki ‘’Başarılı’’ Takımların Performanslarının Karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 2023-2024 sezonunda İngiltere Premier League, İspanya La Liga ve İtalya Serie A’da yer alan, UEFA Şampiyonlar Ligi’ne katılma hakkı kazanan takımların hücum ve savunma performanslarının karşılaştırılması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında, takımların ve aynı maçtaki rakiplerinin gerçekleştirdiği 30 adet performans değişkeni analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada, gözlemsel ve kesitsel araştırma modeli kullanılmış olup, üç farklı ligde Şampiyonlar Ligi’ne katılma hakkı kazanan 13 takımın toplam 493 müsabakasına ait istatistikler incelenmiştir. Veriler, Stats Perform bünyesinde yer alan OPTA’dan temin edilerek filtrelenmiş, istatistiksel analizler için SPSS (v. 25.0) programı kullanılmıştır. ANOVA testi ve Bonferroni post-hoc analizi ile ligler arasındaki farklılıklar değerlendirilmiştir (p<0.05). Çalışma sonucunda Premier League takımlarının hücum değişkenlerinde (pas, isabetli pas, isabetli pas yüzdesi ve gol pozisyonları) diğer iki lige göre anlamlı ölçüde üstün oldukları tespit edilmiştir. La Liga takımlarının ortalama isabetli pas mesafeleri daha uzun iken, Serie A takımları hava topu mücadeleleri ve kazanılan hava topu mücadelelerinde daha yüksek performans sergilemiştir. Liglerin rakiplerine verdiği xG değerlerinde anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır. Premier League'deki başarılı takımların daha baskın bir oyun sergileyerek rakiplerine daha az hücum aksiyonu imkânı tanıdığı gözlenmiştir. Bu bulgular, farklı liglerdeki takımların hücum ve savunma stratejilerinde belirgin farklılıklar olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

Comparison of the Performance of “Successful” Teams in Different Leagues

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the offensive and defensive performances of teams from the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, and Italian Serie A, which qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the 2023-2024 season. The research analyzed 30 performance variables that teams and their opponents carried out in the same games. An observational and cross-sectional research model was used, examining statistics from a total of 493 matches involving 13 teams qualified for the Champions League from the three leagues. Data were obtained and filtered from OPTA within Stats Perform and SPSS (v. 25.0) software was used for statistical analysis. Differences among the leagues were statistically evaluated using ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc analysis (p<0.05). Results revealed that Premier League teams significantly outperformed the other two leagues in offensive parameters (passes, successful passes, successful pass percentage, and goal opportunities). While La Liga teams had longer average successful passing distances, Serie A teams showed higher performance in aerial duels and aerial duels won. No significant differences were found in expected goals (xG) allowed to opponents among the leagues. Successful teams in the Premier League were observed to adopt a more dominant style, limiting their opponents’ offensive actions. These findings highlight notable differences in offensive and defensive strategies among teams from different leagues.
