Supply Chain Management in Tourism: A Bibliometric Analysis of Academic Trends Between 2020 and 2024

Year 2025, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 35 - 54, 28.06.2025

Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) in tourism focuses on service production and distribution, emphasizing customer satisfaction, service quality, and timely delivery. This study analyzes 780 articles from 2020 to 2024 using bibliometric analysis, retrieved from the Web of Science database, and visualized with VOSViewer. Key research areas include environmental sciences, hospitality, leisure tourism, management, and sustainability. Articles are the most common document type, with SSCI, SCI-Expanded, and ESCI as leading indices. Co-authorship analysis highlights Kaiying and Qiang, while Hair, Henseler, Han, Fornell, and Zhang are the most cited authors. Frequently cited journals include Journal of Cleaner Production, Tourism Management, and Sustainability-Basel. Keywords such as "sustainability," "supply chain," and "COVID-19" dominate. Sustainability is the leading journal in bibliographic coupling, and China, the U.S., and the U.K. are top publishing countries. Although research on SCM in tourism is limited, academic interest is growing, providing valuable insights for future studies and the field's development.

Turizm Alanında Tedarik Zinciri Yönetimi: Bibliyometrik Analiz ile 2020-2024 Yılları Arasındaki Akademik Eğilimler

Year 2025, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 35 - 54, 28.06.2025
