The suspension system affects vehicle safety, dynamics, handling and driving comfort. Springs oscillate by taking the reactions of the vehicle from the road. Shock absorbers dampen the oscillation by compression and rebound between open and closed length. During oscillation damping, the shock absorber is subjected to compression and tensile forces under severe impacts. The compression bumper absorbs some of the energy in the sudden forces that will occur, preventing damage to the shock absorber and reducing the noise that will occur. The forces acting on the parts may cause fatigue of the materials over time and as a result of this fatigue, plastic deformation, cracks and fractures may cause the parts to lose their function. In this study, PP Moplen EP3307, PP Hostacom PPR 1042 12, PA66, PA66+GF30 were selected for striker cap from thermoplastic materials considering the predicted forces and fatigue. These materials were analyzed with the finite element method by keeping the geometry constant and examined with laboratory tests and it was decided that they were suitable for production. Considering the ideal strength and cost, PP Hostacom PPR 1042 12 material was selected in this study.
Süspansiyon sistemi aracın güvenliğini, dinamiğini, yol tutuşunu ve sürüş konforunu etkiler. Yaylar araca yoldan gelecek tepkileri üzerine alarak salınım yapar. Amortisörler ise açık ve kapalı boy arasında sıkıştırma ve açılma yaparak salınımı sönümler. Salınım sönümleme esnasında amortisör, üzerine gelen şiddetli darbeler altında basma ve çekme kuvvetlerine maruz kalırlar. Sıkıştırma tamponu oluşacak ani kuvvetlerde enerjinin bir kısmını üzerine alarak amortisörün zarar görmesini önler ve oluşacak gürültüyü azaltır. Parçaların üzerine gelen kuvvetler malzemelerin zamanla yorulmasına ve bu yorulma neticesinde kalıcı deformasyonlara, çatlaklara ve kırılmalara neden olarak parçaların işlevlerini yitirmelerine neden olabilir. Bu çalışmada öngörülen kuvvetler ve yorulmalar göz önüne alınarak koruyucu gövde kapağı için termoplastik malzemelerden PP Moplen EP3307, PP Hostacom PPR 1042 12, PA66, PA66+GF30 seçilmiştir. Bu malzemeler, geometri sabit tutularak sonlu elemanlar yöntemiyle analiz edilmiş ve yapılan laboratuvar testleri ile incelenmiş, üretime uygunluğuna karar verilmiştir. İdeal dayanım ve maliyet göz önüne alınarak bu çalışmada PP Hostacom PPR 1042 12 malzemesi seçilmiştir.
