Bu çalışmanın konusu, Giresun’da yok olan vakıf kurumlardan Müderris İsmail Sabri Efendi Kütüphanesi ve içindeki eserlerdir. Söz konusu yapı, 19. yüzyılın sonlarında, günümüzün Sultanselim Mahallesi’nde Taşbaşı Parkı olan yerde inşa edilmiştir. Müderris İsmail Efendi ile kardeşi Müderris Mustafa Sıtkı Efendi’nin özel kitap koleksiyonu, bu kuruma vakfedilmiştir. 1932’de Kütüphane binasının da içinde bulunduğu Sultan Selim Cami Külliyesi ortadan kaldırılınca, kitaplar önce Giresun Halkevi Kütüphanesine, sonra Giresun Halk Kütüphanesine taşınmıştır. 1957 yılında da İstanbul’daki Süleymaniye Yazma Eserler Kütüphanesi’ne gönderilmiş, burada muhafaza edilirken dijital ortama aktarılmıştır. Bu çalışmada ayrıca kütüphanede bulunan eserler üzerine bir çalışma yapılmış özellikle akaid ve kelam eserlerinin mahiyeti tanıtılmaya çalışılmıştır.
The subject of this article is Müderris İsmail Sabri Efendi Library, one of the waqf institutions in Giresun that has disappeared, and the collection it once housed. The building in question was built at the end of the 19th century, in today's Taşbaşı Park in Sultanselim District. The private book collection of Müderris İsmail Efendi and his brother Müderris Mustafa Sıtkı Efendi was donated to this institution. When the Sultan Selim Mosque Complex, which included the library building, was demolished in 1932, the books were first transferred to the Giresun Community Center Library and then to the Giresun Public Library. In 1957, the collection was sent to the Süleymaniye Manuscripts Library in Istanbul, where it was digitalized for reasons of preservation.

The articles sent to the Journal of Waqfs with a request for publication are subject to preliminary examination by the Editorial Board and at least two academicians who are experts in their fields are sent for review. The copyright of the articles accepted to be published in the Journal of Waqfs with the referee reports and the decision of the Editorial Board is deemed to have been transferred to the General Directorate of Foundations, and a royalty fee is paid to the published articles in accordance with the relevant legislation.
