This study is a classical review that examines the importance, challenges, and current state of rural nursing based on the literature. By highlighting the critical importance and the difficulties faced in rural nursing, this study aims to raise awareness in this field. Rural nurses, working under limited resources and challenging geographical conditions, provide care to a wide range of ages and illnesses, forming the backbone of healthcare services. However, the decreasing number of rural nurses, along with mental health issues and burnout risks, poses serious threats to the sustainability of this field. The study emphasizes that while job satisfaction among rural nurses is high, there is a lack of adequate support and incentives. To make rural nursing more attractive, measures to enhance job satisfaction, education for students from rural backgrounds, and the provision of incentives are necessary. This study underscores the crucial role of rural nursing in ensuring equal access to healthcare services and improving public health levels, contributing significantly to the field.
