Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
YUVA is an international, electronic, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original scientific articles, article translations, book reviews and critiques in the fields of family philosophy, family law, family psychology, family sociology, theology and children's and youth literature in accordance with the ethical principles stated below. Articles sent to YUVA are published electronically with free access after a double-blind review process. The ethical principles and rules stated below have been prepared in accordance with the Higher Education Institutions Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive and the Committee on Publication Ethics- COPE Publication Ethics Committee Directive.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors:
• The subjects of the articles to be sent to YUVA Journal must be within the specified fields.

• Articles to be sent to our journal must be original, not previously published elsewhere or not under evaluation in another journal for publication.

• All sources used in writing the article must be appropriately indicated in the references; copyrighted materials should be used in accordance with the necessary permissions, observing copyright laws and agreements.

• In articles with two or more authors, the order of names agreed upon by all authors and the acceptance that the copyrights of the articles finalized for publication have been transferred to the journal should be officially stated in the Copyright Agreement Form.

• If authors subsequently detect an error in their articles, they should immediately inform the editorial board; they should carry out the correction or retraction process in cooperation. The authors are fully responsible for the published article. No views and thoughts in the article can be attributed to the journal, editors or referees.

• All studies accepted by our journal are checked using the iThenticate plagiarism detection program. Matches resulting from the plagiarism check are examined and a similarity report is then created for the article. In line with the report, authors may be asked to make corrections to certain parts of their work, or the study may be removed from the publication process.

• Articles are subjected to a double-blind evaluation process by the editor or one of the assistant editors and at least two referees. Plagiarism, forgery, distortion, duplication, slicing publication, unfair authorship, copyright violation and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors in studies.

Ethical Responsibilities of Referees:
• The double-blind method is applied in the evaluation of studies sent to our journal. Thus, the identities of referees and authors are kept confidential in order to ensure an unbiased, objective and independent evaluation process.

Articles are sent to referees for evaluation via Dergipark.

Referees are required to referee only studies related to their fields of expertise.

Referees must state their opinions on the article they evaluate, their reasoned decisions on whether the study is publishable or not in writing and they must not state their names in order not to harm the double-blind evaluation process.

Referees are responsible for evaluating articles in an unbiased and objective manner from a scientific perspective.

Referees are expected to complete their evaluations within the time period granted to them and to act in accordance with the ethical principles of our journal.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors:
• Editors evaluate the articles sent to the journal objectively in accordance with scientific and ethical principles and organize the process of fair double-blind peer review of the studies.
• They ensure that all information and data regarding the articles sent to the journal are kept confidential until the publication process is completed.
• They are responsible for the total quality of all content and publications in the journal. They may publish an error page or make corrections when necessary.
• Editors do not allow any conflict of interest between authors and referees. They have full authority to appoint referees and are responsible for making the final decision regarding the articles to be published in the journal.
