Öz

The aim of this study is to examine author Duran Çetin's work Bekleyiş in terms of root values. The research is qualitative research and the study. In this context, document review technique was preferred. The study group consists of fifteen children in a work written by Duran Çetin.
constitutes the story. The research is based on the fact that author Duran Çetin has many works in children's literature and the research to be done with this study. It is important in terms of contributing to values education. With the study, Turkish Lesson Teaching Program within the scope of basic education (MEB, 2019) and The studies titled "Renewal and Change Studies in the Curriculum" (MEB, 2017) were carried out according to the ten root values that were taken as a priority. Descriptive analysis approach was preferred in data analysis. In this context, in the stories examined under the headings of root values, the root values mentioned above have been scanned. Then, the detected root value expressions were recorded with page numbers. The root that emerges in stories The values were also presented in tables and it was concluded which root value was the most prominent. According to the results of the study, Duran Çetin's ıt has been determined that in his work, all the root values, which are taken as a priority by the Ministry of National Education, are covered. But the level of proficiency when examined, it was concluded that the root values were processed adequately in some stories and not adequately in some stories. In the stories discussed ıt was determined that the most prominent root value was self-control (28 items), and the least processed root value was patience and friendship (4 items).
