Confocal Microscope : Most Important Impvovement Or Linght Microscopy In The Last Decade

Öz

Compared with conventional light microscopy (LLM), confocal mic- roscopy (CM) is characterized in part by increased light sensitivity and higher spatial resolution particulariy in using the laser beam as a light source, These characteristics permit the detection and diserimination of minor structures in cells and tissues in three dimensions with a more specific, sensitive and accurate way. One of the most important feature of this microscope is to avoid the effects of out-of-focus
images in the final image by means of object plane sectioning and pinhole diaphragm. Potential clinical applications related to these characteristics of confocal microscopy are discussed and concluded that its olinical impact is obvious.

Öz

Konvansiyonel ışık mikroskobu ile kıyaslandığında konfokal mikroskobu, özellikle ışık kaynağı olarak laserin kullanıldığı durumlarda, ışık duyarlığında ve uzaysal düzlemdeki çözüm gücündeki artış ile karakterizedir. Bu özellikler, hücre ve dokulardaki ince yapıyı daha spe- sifik, hassas ve kesin şekliyle üç boyutlu olarak ortaya çıkarma ve degerlendirme olanağı tanır, Bu mikroskobun en önemli özelliklerinden birisi de fokus dışı görüntülerin, düzlem kesit alma özelliği ve iğne deliği diyafram yardımıyla final görüntüyü etkilemesini önlemesidir, Bu özellikleri ile bu mikroskobun klinik alanlardaki kullanım potansiyeli tartışılmış ve etkisinin son derece yararlı olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
