Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide. Although there has been positive progress in the prognosis of cancer patients with developing treatment methods, it is still poor in the majority of cases. Complex approaches to anticancer treatment encourage researchers to seek new ways in this regard. Intestinal microbiota is one of the large areas that need to be investigated for this purpose. Microbiota has an important place in the human body. Dysbiosis, which occurs as a result of imbalance in microbial composition, can trigger some types of cancer by affecting the tumorigenic pathway. Probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics and postbiotics can help restore the microbiota balance by affecting the intestinal microbiota. The use of postbiotics, a member of the biotic family for the intestinal microbiome, has recently attracted attention. Postbiotics are microbial metabolites that have beneficial effects on host health. Postbiotics have antibacterial, anticancer and anticarcinogenic properties that potentially help prevent or treat some types of cancer. With these effects, postbiotics are very important on cancer. This review was written to examine the effects of postbiotics on some types of cancer.
