Out-of-pocket health expenditures include all expenditures incurred by households to access healthcare servives without reimbursement. For this reason, some households avoid making out-of-pocket health expenditures. It is estimated that more than 150 million people around the world are driven into poverty due to out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, highlighting the importance of studies on this issue. In this study, it was aimed to conduct a detailed bibliometric analysis of academic studies on out-of-pocket health expenditures using VOSviewer program. According to the results of the analysis, it was seen that most of the publications were in the form of journal articles and that English was the most frequently used language. It has been determined that the authors with the most citations and the strongest connection strengths in the relevant field are identified as Mohanty, Sanjay K. and Srivastava, Akanksha, that the country with the highest impact strength is India, and that the institution with the highest impact strength is the International Institute for Population Sciences. According to the results of the study, the prices of healthcare services and products should be kept under control and access to health services should be facilitated.
