Kırsal çevrenin korunması ve sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması bakımından önemli bir turizm türü olan kırsal turizm, sosyoekonomik
kalkınmanın da önemli destekleyicilerindendir. Kırsal yörelerin geleneksel değerlerini, bu kültürün doğum yeri olan özgün kırsal mekânla
birlikte ele almak, ilgili kırsal turizm destinasyonuna ekonomik yönden büyük faydalar sağlamaktadır. Kırsal çevrenin korunması ve turizm
gelirinin en üst düzeye çıkartılması için, turizmin geliştiği bölgelerde kırsal turizm kaynaklarının en başından planlanması gerekir. Son
yıllarda önemli bir turizm destinasyonu olma yolunda ilerleyen Sinop, deniz, kültür ve kırsal turizm potansiyeli bakımından dikkat çekici
hale gelmesine rağmen alt ve üst yapı yönünden yeterli gelişmeyi gösterememiştir. Uzun yıllardır bölgeden verilen göçler ve ulaşım sorunları
nedeniyle ekonomik ve sosyal sıkıntılarla mücadele eden Sinop iline son dönemde yapılan yatırımlar, ilin sahip olduğu turizm potansiyelini
aktif hale getirebilmesi açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, GZFT analizi yardımıyla Sinop ilinin kırsal turizm potansiyeli hakkında
kavramsal bir çerçeve çizerek, kırsal turizm ve tesislerinin gelişmesi ile Sinop’un sağlayacağı sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik faydalardan
yararlanma imkânını tartışmaktır

Rural tourism, which is an important type of tourism in protection and sustainability of rural environment, is one of the important supportive of socio-economic developments. Traditional values of rural areas, the birthplace of the culture to deal with the original rural spaces, related to the economic aspects of rural tourism destinations provide great benefits. For rural environmental protection and the highest level of tourism income, rural tourism resources in the developing areas should be planned from the beginning. In recent years, Sinop, becoming a major tourist destination, is an attractive area with sea, culture and rural tourism potential, but it hasn’t shown enough improvement in infrastructure and superstructure. For many years, the migration from the region due to transportation problems and struggling with the economic and social distress, the investments made in recent years are important for the tourism potential of the province. The purpose of this study, with the help of SWOT analysis, drawing a conceptual framework about the potential rural tourism of Sinop province, is to discuss social, cultural and economic benefits with the development of tourism and its facilities.
