Ne Eğitimde Ne İstihdamda Olan Gençlerin (NEET) Yaşam Deneyimleri: Zorluklar Gereksinimler ve Beklentiler

Öz

Bu çalışma, ne eğitimde ne istihdamda olan gençlerin (NEET) yaşam deneyimlerinde karşılaştıkları zorlukları, gereksinimlerini ve beklentilerini ele almaktadır. Çalışma, yaşları 15 ile 24 yaş arasında ve tamamı NEET statüsünde olan 17 gençle yapılan derinlemesine görüşmelere dayanarak, gençlerin deneyimlerini kendi anlatılarıyla yorumlamaktadır. Araştırma bulgularına göre NEET gençler; düşük ücretler, güvencesiz işler, uzun çalışma saatleri ve deneyim eksikliği gibi nedenlerle istihdamdan uzaklaşmaktadır. Gençlerin eğitimden uzaklaşmalarının temelin de ise ekonomik zorluklar ve eğitim sistemine olan güvensizlik gelmektedir. NEET gençler gelecek kaygısı, depresyon, huzursuzluk, özsaygıda azalma, sosyal çekilme ve sosyal izolasyon gibi ciddi psikososyal sağlık sorunlarıyla karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. Günlük yaşamlarında sosyal hayattan izole olan NEET gençler, işsizlik ve umutsuzluk nedeniyle devlete olan güvenlerini kaybetmekte; istihdam politikalarının ve sosyal desteklerin yetersizliğinden şikayet etmektedir. Bu çalışmanın ampirik temelli kavramsal sonuçlarına dayanarak sosyal açıdan hassas olan NEET gençlere yönelik genel ve müdahaleci yaklaşımın aşılması ve kişiselleştirilmiş bir yaklaşımın benimsenmesinin önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.

Öz

The current study examines the challenges, needs, and expectations young individuals classified as not in education, employment or training (NEET) face in their lives. The study interprets the experiences of these young people through their narratives based on in-depth interviews conducted with 17 young people aged 15 to 24, all of whom are in NEET status. According to the research findings, NEET young people distance themselves from employment for reasons such as low wages, insecure jobs, long working hours and lack of experience. The main reasons for their disengagement from education include economic difficulties and mistrust to the education system. NEET young people face serious psychosocial problems such as anxiety about the future, depression, anxiety, reduced self-esteem, social withdrawal and social isolation. Isolated from social life in their eveyday lives NEET young people lose trust in the state due to unemployment and hopelessness and complain about the inadequacy of both employment policies and social support. Based on the empirical and conceptual findings of this study, it is considered important to overcome the general and interventionist approach towards socially vulnerable NEET young people and to pursue a personalised approach.
