A horticulturist by education with over 32 years of experience in teaching, research, and outreach, with overall aim to help improve the industry's performance/profitability and make it globally competitive. Worked as Dean Faculty of Agriculture, and Director Institute of Horticultural Sciences. Developed and executed 18 national and internationally funded (Pak-Australia, EU/UNIDO, USAID) projects. Previously did PhD from Curtin University of Technology, Australia, and a Postdoc from the University of California, Davis, USA, by winning the prestigious International Postgraduate Research Scholarship and Fulbright Awards respectively. Published 104 research papers in impact factor journals, over 100 industry articles, manuals, book chapters, etc. Received Best University Teacher Award (2006) from the Prime Minister of Pak (Higher Education category-Punjab), Australian Executive Endeavour Award (2010), and Productive Scientist Award for five years from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan

Professor in Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University responsible for seed science laboratory and teaching seed physiology and technology courses in graduate and post graduate level. He did PhD in UK and being sabbatical in South Africa in 1995 and 1998 in University of Pretoria. Working in different seed technology problems with various seed companies. Such as seed priming, seed vigour, storage and fungicide treatment and seed quality relationship. Member of International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) vigour committee. Member of Editorial Board of Seed Science and Technology and South African Journal of Botany. Supervised 14 PhD, 22 MSc. students so far. He has lead more than 15 scientific project supported by various sources and published more than 90 scientific papers in internationally recognized journals. He was directorate of Institute of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science in between 2013-2017.

Deneyimli bir sebze ıslahçısı olarak, tarla denemeleri yürütme, ıslah projeleri geliştirme ve gelişmiş hastalık direncine sahip saf hatlar oluşturma konusunda uzmanım. Halihazırda Batı Akdeniz Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü'nde, çeşitli biber türleri için çeşitli hastalık direncine sahip melez biber hatları geliştirme çalışmalarına liderlik ediyorum. Daha önce Oregon Eyalet Üniversitesi'nde araştırma görevlisi olarak yüksek lisansımı yaptım ve burada organik çiftçiler ve sebze işleyicileri için sebze çeşitlerinin (fasulye, bezelye, domates, kabak ve brokoli) geliştirilmesine katkıda bulundum.
