Examining the Mediating Role of Social Worth in the Effect of Employees' Person Environment-Fit on Entrepreneurial Intention

Öz

This study examines the impact of person-environment fit and social acceptance on entrepreneurial intent in the workplace. Based on survey data collected from 289 individuals with at least five years of work experience, the analysis was conducted on 251 valid responses. Results indicate a significant effect of person-environment fit on entrepreneurial intent, particularly within the dimension of person-job fit. Additionally, the study confirms that the perception of social value plays an indirect role in this relationship. Findings suggest that feeling valued by one’s social environment strengthens individuals’ entrepreneurial intentions, and that alignment within the work environment further supports this process. These results contribute to the literature by highlighting the positive effects of person-environment fit and social worth perception on entrepreneurial propensity.
