Oral disintegrating films are unique patient-friendly miniature dosage forms that can get hydrated in
saliva, disintegrate abruptly and release the drug that gets absorbed into systemic circulation via the oral mucosa. This
distinct dosage form has captured the pharmaceutical market due to its therapeutic standpoint, especially in cases
delivering drugs to psychic, un-cooperative, and ambulatory patients. This article provides an insight into oral films,
their pros and cons, formulation aids, strategies, and challenges. We also address the unique properties, of these systems
and polymers used and their properties. The review adds to case studies and also marketed formulations. We also
address the unique properties of this system and polymers used and properties.
