Babalık Rolü Algısı İle Babanın Katılımı Arasındaki İlişkilerin Baba- Çocuk Oyununa Yansımaları

Öz

Bu çalışmada babalık rol algısı ve baba katılımı arasındaki ilişkiler ve bu süreçlerin baba çocuk oyunlarına ve de oyun materyallerine yansımaları incelenmiştir. Araştırma, İstanbul’da yaşayan ve 7-10 yaşında çocukları olan babalardan (N= 150) oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada, Bilgilendirilmiş Onam Formu, demografik Bilgi Formu, Babalık Rolü Algı Ölçeği (BRAÖ), Baba Katılım Ölçeği (BAKÖ) ve babaların çocuklarıyla oynadıkları oyunlara ve oyunlarında kullandıkları materyallere dair açık uçlu sorular kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada babalık rolü algısı arttıkça babanın temel bakım vermeye katılımında düşüş olduğu, baba çocuk arasındaki keyfi meşguliyetin azaldığı ve babanın çocuğuna ilgi ve yakınlığının azaldığı belirlenmiştir. Babalık rol algısının babaların çocukları ile oynadıkları oyunlara ve oynarken tercih ettikleri oyun materyallerine göre de farklılıklar gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Günümüzde yeni baba tanımı ile babalık rol algısına dair saptamalar yapılsa da kültürel bağlamın babalık rol algısını şekillendirmeye devam ettiği düşünülmektedir. Alan yazın baba çocuk oyunun çocukların akademik ve sosyal becerileri için ne denli önemli olduğunun altını çizmektedir. Babaların çocukları ile oyuna teşvik edilmeye ve desteklenmeye teşvik edilmeleri konusunda cesaretlendirilmeleri önerilmektedir.

Öz

This study examines the relationships between father role perception and father involvement and the reflections of these processes on father-child play and play materials. The study consisted of fathers (N= 150) with children aged 7-10 years living in Istanbul. In the study, Informed Consent Form, Demographic Information Form, Fathering Role Perception Scale (Babalık Rolü Algısı Ölçeği, BRAÖ), Father Involvement Scale (Baba Katılım Ölçeği, BAKÖ) and open-ended questions about the games fathers play with their children and the materials they use in their games were used. In the study, it was determined that as the perception of fatherhood role increased, the father's participation in basic caregiving decreased, the arbitrary preoccupation between father and child decreased, and the father's interest and closeness to his child decreased. It was also found that the perception of fatherhood role differed according to the games that fathers played with their children and the play materials they preferred while playing. Although determinations have been made about the perception of fatherhood role with the new definition of father today, it is thought that the cultural context continues to shape the perception of fatherhood role. The literature emphasizes the importance of father-child play for children's academic and social skills. It is recommended that fathers should be encouraged to support play with their children.
