Many factors affect father involvement in their children's lives and are developed differently to influence parental behavior. To understand father involvement in depth, it is important to examine fathers' parenting and the individual, familial, and contextual factors that affect it from the fathers' perspective. Therefore, this study aimed to collect qualitative information about fathers' parenting experiences, and for this aim, semi-structured online interviews were conducted with a total of 25 fathers. After the data obtained was deciphered, themes were determined by coding. Inter-coder reliability was found to vary between .80 and .96. The study showed that supporting the childcare and development is the main role of fathers. Most fathers reported childcare duties as a shared responsibility between spouses. It was noteworthy that fathers stated that they were influenced by their own parents and traditional gender roles. Fatigue due to work life emerged as the biggest obstacle to father involvement. Most fathers perceived maternal gatekeeping as encouraging. Fathers' main motivations for caring for their children are their happiness and smiles. It is thought that the results may be useful for intervention programs that aim to increase father involvement.
