Öz
Babanın varlığı özellikle bir kadının bütün hayatı boyunca gelişimini etkileyen önemli bir unsurdur. Babanın fiziksel veya duygusal olarak olmaması durumu kişinin bilincinde, bu eksikliği gidermek amacıyla o figüre dair çok daha derin ve katmanlı bir imge kurulmasına neden olmaktadır. Diğer bir deyişle kişi, ‘babayı’ bu figürün yokluğunda, onun yerine ikame ettiği yeni değer ve kavramlar aracılığıyla yaşamında sembolik olarak var ettiği söylenebilir. Bu sebeple babanın yokluğu meselesi kadın sanatçıların eserlerinde baba figürünü nasıl ele aldıkları özelinde ilgi çekici biçimde ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu bağlamda otobiyografik eserler üreten sanatçılar Tracey Emin ve Jannane Al- Ani’nin kendi babalarını konu aldıkları iki eseri incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sonucunda baba figürünün yokluğunun sanatsal olarak ifade edilebileceği ve “baba”nın imgeler aracılığıyla yeniden yaratılabileceği görülmüştür. Yokluk ve kayıp hisleriyle “baba”yı anlamlandırmaya çalıştıkları, yarattıkları sembolik baba figürüyle sanatsal olarak hesaplaşmalarının ardında, kendi benliklerini ve tarihlerini yeniden inşa etme çabaları olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The presence of the father is an important element that affects the development of a woman throughout her life. The absence of a father, whether physical or emotional, causes a much deeper and more layered image of that figure to be established in the person's consciousness in order to compensate for this deficiency. For this reason, the issue of the absence of the father emerges in an interesting way, especially in terms of how women artists approach the father figure in their works. In this context, two works by autobiographical artists Tracey Emin and Jannane Al-Ani, who focus on their own fathers, were examined. As a result of this examination, it was seen that the absence of the father figure could be artistically expressed and the "father" could be recreated through images.
