Review of Studies on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Hospitality Businesses

Öz

In the hospitality sector, which is a key part of the tourism industry, the need to adopt innovative approaches arises from constantly changing customer expectations, competitive market conditions and technological developments. One of the most innovative approaches to the hospitality industry is the use of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence (AI) is an important transformation tool in the hospitality industry. This technology has become a critical tool in enabling hoteliers to customize the customer experience, improve service quality, enhance guest experiences, increase satisfaction levels, increase operational efficiency, optimize energy consumption, maintenance processes, etc., predict guest desires and expectations, use resources efficiently, and reduce costs. This advancement has led to the development of related literature. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of publications on artificial intelligence in the hospitality sector. Within the scope of the research, 307 publications were analyzed using the Web of Science database on 04.02.2025 using the search terms "hotel industry" and "artificial intelligence." We performed the bibliometric analysis and created graphs using Web of Science Analysis, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix. The keywords, abstracts, prominent publications, research topics, prominent authors, journals, and relationship networks for the publications examined in this study were examined, and suggestions were presented regarding current issues in the literature and future study topics.

Konaklama İşletmelerinde Yapay Zekâ Uygulamaları Üzerine Yapılan Çalışmaların İncelenmesi

Öz

Turizm endüstrisinin en önemli bileşenlerinden birini oluşturan konaklama sektöründe sürekli değişen müşteri beklentileri, rekabetçi pazar koşulları ve teknolojik gelişmeler, sektörde yenilikçi yaklaşımların benimsenmesini zorunlu kılmaktadır. Konaklama sektöründe son yıllardaki en yenilikçi yaklaşımların başında yapay zekâ teknolojilerinin kullanımı gelmektedir. Yapay zekâ (YZ), konaklama sektöründe önemli bir dönüşüm aracı olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu teknoloji, otel işletmelerinin müşteri deneyimini özelleştirmelerine ve hizmet kalitesini artırmalarına, misafir deneyimlerini geliştirmeye, memnuniyet düzeylerini artırmaya, operasyonel verimliliği artırmaya, enerji tüketimi, bakım süreçleri vb. optimize etmeye, misafir istek ve beklentileri tahminlemeye, kaynakların verimli kullanılmasına, maliyetleri düşürmeye kadar birçok imkan sağlamada kritik bir araç haline gelmiştir. Bu durum beraberinde ilgili literatürün de gelişmesine neden olmuştur. Çalışmanın amacını, konaklama sektöründe yapay zekâ ile ilgili yapılan yayınların bibliyometrik analizini yapmaktır. Araştırma kapsamında Web of Science veri tabanı kullanılarak 04.02.2025 tarihinde “otel endüstrisi” ve “yapay zekâ” arama terimleri kullanılarak yapılan taramada 307 yayın incelenmiştir. Bibliyometrik analizin yapılmasında ve grafiklerin oluşturulmasında Web of Science Analysis, VOSviewer ve Bibliometrix’ten yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında incelenen yayınlara yönelik anahtar kelimeler, özetler, öne çıkan yayınlar, araştırma konuları, öne çıkan yazarlar, dergiler ve ilişki ağları incelenerek literatürdeki güncel konular ve geleceğe yönelik çalışma konuları ile ilgili öneriler sunulmuştur.
