Deprem Sonrası Travma Belirtilerinin Hatay İli Özelinde İncelenmesi

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, 6 Şubat 2023 tarihinde Türkiye'nin Kahramanmaraş ilinde meydana gelen ve geniş bir coğrafyayı etkileyen doğal afet sonrasında, Hatay ilinde depremi yaşayan bireylerde travma gelişip gelişmediğini, gelişen travmanın düzeyini ve travma yüklerinin hangi alt boyutlarda yoğunlaştığını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini Türkiye’nin Hatay ilinde ikamet eden ve 6 Şubat depremini deneyimlemiş 18 yaş ve üzeri bireyler oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında tanımlayıcı sorular ile Tanhan ve Kayri (2013) tarafından geliştirilen 20 soruluk Deprem Sonrası Travma Düzeyini Belirleme Ölçeği (DSTDBÖ)’nden yararlanılmıştır. Veriler, çevrimiçi anket formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma 418 kişinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde IBM SPSS Statistics 25 programı kullanılmış ve veriler %95 güven aralığında, p<0,05 anlamlılık düzeyinde incelenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularında kadın katılımcıların ortalama puanları tüm alt boyutlarında erkek katılımcılara göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Evli katılımcıların ortalama puanları duyuşsal yapı, bilişsel yapı ve uyku problemi alt boyutlarında bekâr katılımcılara göre anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Daha önceden deprem deneyimi olmayan katılımcıların ortalama puanları deprem deneyimi olanlara göre davranışsal problem alt boyutunda anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Deprem deneyimi olmayan katılımcıların davranışsal problemlerde daha yüksek puanlar almış olması deprem deneyiminin travma belirtileri üzerindeki etkisini vurgularken, yaş ve eğitim düzeyinin de travma belirtilerini etkilediği saptanmıştır.

Examination of Post-Earthquake Trauma Symptoms in Hatay Province

Öz

In this study, it is aimed to reveal whether trauma developed in individuals who experienced the earthquake in Hatay province after the natural disaster that occurred on February 6, 2023 in Kahramanmaraş province of Türkiye and affected a wide geography, the level of trauma that developed and in which sub-dimensions the trauma burdens were concentrated. The population of the research consists of individuals aged 18 and over who reside in Hatay province of Türkiye and experienced the February 6 earthquake. Descriptive questions and the 20-question Post-Earthquake Trauma Level Determination Scale (DSTDBÖ) developed by Tanhan and Kayri (2013) were used to collect data. Data was collected using an online survey form. The research was conducted with the participation of 418 people. IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program was used to analyze the data and the data were examined at a 95% confidence interval and a significance level of p<0.05. In the research findings, the average scores of female participants were found to be significantly higher than male participants in all sub-dimensions. The average scores of married participants were found to be significantly higher than single participants in the affective structure, cognitive structure and sleep problem subscales. The average scores of participants who had no previous earthquake experience were found to be significantly higher in the behavioral problem subscale than those with earthquake experience. The fact that participants without earthquake experience received higher scores in behavioral problems emphasizes the effect of earthquake experience on trauma symptoms, while it was determined that age and education level also affected trauma symptoms.
