The Effect of Social Responsibility Consciousness of Tourists Travelling Alone and Tourists Travelling with Different Groups on Environmentally Responsible Behaviours

Year 2025, Volume: 16 Issue: 2, 626 - 638, 31.05.2025

Abstract

Tourism destinations are among the places where environmental problems are experienced the most. In tourism activities, which are expressed as the movement of the masses, the environment is exposed to many negativities. The increase in the negativities on the environment has brought responsible behaviour towards the environment to the forefront. Responsible behaviour towards the environment is effective in the long-term success of touristic destinations. Social responsibility awareness is effective in tourists' responsible behaviour towards the environment. In this study, the effect of the social responsibility consciousness of tourists on complying with environmentally responsible behaviour and encouraging responsible behaviour was investigated. This study is a descriptive study aiming to determine the effect of social responsibility consciousness of tourists participating in travel activities alone and with different groups on complying with environmentally responsible behaviour and encouraging responsible behaviour. The data obtained from the questionnaires filled out by 340 domestic tourists visiting Trabzon were transferred to the SPSS programme and subjected to regression analysis. As a result of the analyses, it was determined that individuals travelling with different groups (family, friends, tour) were more likely to comply with responsible behaviour towards the environment and to encourage responsible behaviour

Tek Başına Seyahate Çıkan Turistler ile Farklı Gruplarla Seyahate Çıkan Turistlerin Sosyal Sorumluluk Bilinçlerinin Çevresel Sorumlu Davranışlarına Etkisi

Year 2025, Volume: 16 Issue: 2, 626 - 638, 31.05.2025
